To produce 6 kg of green beans, 600 flowers must be pollinated by hand.

We assist young people by providing education that
combines academic learning with hands-on experience. This ultimately benefits
young folks who desire to work on their family farms or start their own businesses.

Mutual Medical Insurance

Our healthcare initiative is the first to assist small vanilla producers
and their families with medical expenses. As a result, an increasing number
of farmers are acquiring faith in modern treatment.

Collaborating To Build Sustainable
Communities

Many people in Uganda experience poverty; our vanilla
farmers face the same issues, but our efforts help them better their
life and empower local people to build more wealthy, sustainable communities.

Combating Poverty Through Crop
Diversification

We promote and assist farmers in growing a wide range of crops such as
cocoa, cloves, cinnamon, pepper, and vetiver. These crops, grown on the same vanilla
plots, generate supplementary revenue without adding to deforestation.

Training Provided By Local People

Our farmer field schools teach selected farmers from each village in certification
processes, sustainable farming techniques, and soil and slope management
so that they may pass on their expertise to other farmers in their communities.

How It Started

The vanilla farmers in Kasese and Bundibugyo were found to be living in extremely remote areas, with limited access to basic things like running water, electricity and poor telephone network.
